i fucking hate giving adobe money but i'm still not ready to use cracked lightroom because it has so much valuable shit stored in it. at least i downgraded from the $600/year full creative cloud to the $250/year lightroom-and-photoshop-only one. fuck adobe.

please someone replace lightroom with something usable (it isn't darktable, shhh)

if it is a personal decision, then it could be a political statement.

i think the general orthodoxy is that it's not a decision, that it's innate, but there are other personal decisions surrounding it (actions, mostly) that are choices.

i mean, all of the closeted gay priests are choosing *not* to make the political statement of coming out...

i don't think Apple's planned LEO-assist features were ever going to run anywhere but on-device.

@yProd spotlight can be turned off and directories excluded. what ML features are in use when using spacebar quicklook in the finder? literally all i asked it to do is display the image. at best it is a bug.

macOS ventura 13.1 scans your local images using network API requests to apple when browsing local image files in the finder now.

@bot i was browsing images in the finder and it made network API requests, that's how. there's a screenshot of the image and the API access in the article.

@icedquinn @Suiseiseki @cafkafk it's really sad to see the free/nonfree sides turn into the anticapitalism/procommerce war. it's really dumb. you can be commercial and respect freedoms. the agpl (nonfree!) is a great example of this damage spreading in the foss world.
