@lowqualityfacts Sings "You're gonna make it, after all..." Now throw your hat into the air. (if you didn't watch MTM in the 70s, you might not get this.)
One thing I've learned in my 7 decades (actually in 5 decades because I didn't give it any thought the first couple decades): Democracy is always a work in progress.
Unless, of course, Project 2025 gets put into practice; then it's game over.

I hope the ABC debate between Harris and Trump is the only debate. It won't actually be a 'debate', but it will be an opportunity to compare and contrast a world-class liar with a serious presidential candidate with an actual vision for moving America forward. But once is enough. #HarrisTrumpDebate
It sounds like Trump was mostly his true self at NABJ and did himself no favors. I've got no problem with platforming Trump if he's facing an interviewer and audience who aren't in the cult. #WeirdTrump
How racist and misogynist do you have to be to say something like “America isn’t ready for a black woman president”, when the alternative is a convicted felon (who has yet to be held accountable for stealing classified documents or attempting to steal the 2020 election), with rapidly declining cognitive abilities, who loves Putin, Kim, and Erdogan? #Kamala2024 #TrumpIsDone
Am I just missing it, or has no Republican come forward with a statement about how the Trump shooter was obviously suffering from mental issues? #ItsTheGuns
For more than a month, since my cargo Lectric eTrike was delivered, all my visits to the grocery store (5 miles, roundtrip) have been on the trike. It's been fun, and my gas consumption (some trips are still too far, or time is a factor, or I need the pickup to haul something big) has been cut in half. Hope to do this through the winter. #EV#eTrike#eBike
Let's say it turns out to be super-simple to create your own instance, and that's no longer perceived as a barrier.
It seems that what people are drawn to is the ability to easily interact with others within a community, in a public or semi-public enviroment. Will Kitten support that kind of interaction?
@aral I like the concept, but it's not viable for a lot of people. I'm a web developer, and I have clients who cannot even sign up for a webhosting account by themselves. Telling them they need to run their own server would send them back to bed with the covers pulled over their head.
Ex-Michigan farmboy makin' it work since 1958 (born in 1953, but coasted for a few years). Blatantly pro-democracy. Proud and concerned father, grandfather, and dog dad. Emigrated from New Mexico high desert to New Jersey lake, spring 2022. Used to be a whitewater canoeist, now happy paddling a quiet lake. ClassicPress/WordPress developer. Oxford comma because I'm civilized.
