I hope the ABC debate between Harris and Trump is the only debate. It won't actually be a 'debate', but it will be an opportunity to compare and contrast a world-class liar with a serious presidential candidate with an actual vision for moving America forward.

I suspect people who work in computer or application support also have a pretty good idea...

For more than a month, since my cargo Lectric eTrike was delivered, all my visits to the grocery store (5 miles, roundtrip) have been on the trike. It's been fun, and my gas consumption (some trips are still too far, or time is a factor, or I need the pickup to haul something big) has been cut in half. Hope to do this through the winter.

Let's say it turns out to be super-simple to create your own instance, and that's no longer perceived as a barrier.

It seems that what people are drawn to is the ability to easily interact with others within a community, in a public or semi-public enviroment. Will Kitten support that kind of interaction?

Sorry, but I see nothing in your article to quell the fears of technophobes about managing their own web presence/instance.

I like the concept, but it's not viable for a lot of people. I'm a web developer, and I have clients who cannot even sign up for a webhosting account by themselves. Telling them they need to run their own server would send them back to bed with the covers pulled over their head.

For people saying "Trump packed the court", and "Trump's policies", etc:

Trump never had a thought about policies or strategy that wasn't handed to him. He was the figurehead who soaked up all the attention while the GOP did the dirty work in enacting fascist laws and packing the court.

Once Trump is gone, if the GOP remains, we still have a major fascism problem.
