    - Tesla Q1 profits down •71%• YoY
    - Earnings per share of $0.27 lower than analyst expectations of $0.41
    - Without carbon credits, company would have posted an operating loss

Bad as all that sounds for Tesla, keep in mind that this company regularly publishes falsified data. It hacked its odometers to push customers out of warranty. It wildly exagerrated Cybertruck orders. It almost certainly published fraudulent sales figures in Canada to get in on an expiring gov benefit.

I’m assuming this dismal quarterly earning report isn’t reality, but is the rosiest lie they could manage to sell to investors. The reality is probably even worse.

I would especially be suspicious of the figures that drive those carbon credits. They’re the only thing that’s keeping the company profitable, maybe the only thing keeping it afloat in the near-to-medium term. Do I believe that this unscrupulous, data-faking company suddenly became honest for this “you report numbers and we give you money” scheme on which its existence depends? No, no, I do not.

Am I putting my life savings into shorting Tesla? No, no I am not. As the old saying goes, the market can stay irrational a lot longer than you can stay solvent.

But am I •buying• Tesla stock? No, no I am not. Even without its owner being a Nazi, just on the fundamentals, this is not a company whose future I’d bet on.

No, because the tardigrade is one of the few living creatures that can survive long-term in a Tesla

@inthehands Looks like we had to go even smaller to find anything willing to play a sad tune for them.

But can a tardigrade shed even a single tear for Tesla?

It’s ridiculous. The bull story for the stock is that Musk is a supergenius who’s going to make the company make infinite money at some indeterminate point in the future with self-driving cars and magical robot farts.

Musk has become bored with Tesla. His main investors, the fossil fuel investors, want to end all EV's anyway.

      https://www.americanbanker.com/news/peter-thiel-backed-palantir-plots-ai-tech-for-banks

According to Kara Swisher & Scott Galloway, they suspect that the next mirage that Musk wishcasts will be a pivot to AI-enabled surveillance state IT infrastructure.

That's where the next big cash cow will be launched.

Leveraged by a merger of SpaceX, X, xAI, & Tesla.

The sad truth of the matter is that he’s a talented con artist, and with confidence schemes as with pyramid schemes, there •is• money to be made if you get in and get out at the right times.

The best hope for tanking Tesla once and for all is to convince enough people that it’s time to get out.

Whole lot of people think they’re seeing government downsizing when they’re really seeing regulatory capture.

Whole lot more know exactly what they’re seeing and are betting on the winner.
