I agree with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and President Joe Biden. Today's #SCOTUS ruling makes the US President a King unbeholden to the law, and this is contrary to the intentions of this country's founders. It invites chaos, lawlessness, and destruction of our systems of laws. It favors the installation of a dictator the moment a person is elected to that office. It's a sad day for America and the world. Democracy dies by steps, and today was a leap. #uspolhttps://www.youtube.com/live/vtc_n4Tqr8k?si=1yCJ7hOW9Sb9mL15
@Swede1952 I love clocks that automatically correct for the goofy twice a year clock adjustment. So much so I designed (3d print and electronics and software) my own clock which does this and also accurately follows Internet time. So called 'atomic' clocks (I have several, and a watch) have a ferrite bar antenna and receive radio time signals which encode the time and the semiannual changes. The are atomic only in that atomic clocks are used at the transmitter. 1/2
@Swede1952 There are also atomic clocks in orbit.... every GPS or GNSS satellite has an atomic clock. These are called atomic because they are calibrated to the vibration frequency of an electronic spectrum line from a specific atomic element, and hence much more stable in rate than the vibrating rocks (quartz crystals) used in computers, TVs, and all manner of electronics.
@Swede1952 Anyway, more than anyone asked, a hobby of mine, which I will wax on about autistically.... if you made it this far thanks for your indulgence
@Swede1952 No worries, I knew I was going to be an engineer when I studied for hours all the How It Works exploded diagram books I could put my hands on when I was 8 years old and started reading through the bound encyclopedias in the library at recess. My dad got me started 'cause he was a nerd. He passed away at thend of December. We stand on the shoulders of giants. Society needs all kinds - artists, communicators, business, science, educators, the list goes on.
@nova I've used a dozen or more of this model of drives in embedded Linux applications (computer vision, storing bursts of images) and none have failed yet, with something on the order of a terabyte worth of images, so that's good. Nothing close to the stated life, though it's enough to say they are acting like reliable devices.
