If companies want workers physically present in office:
• pay for time spent commuting
• pay for travel cost - mileage allowance,/parking or pub transp
• provide free lunch
• pay for childcare, dogsitter
• create a friendly, fun atmosphere - not "get in your cube and work heads down, slave"

That was kinda my point. While it seems dehumanizing, the obvious choice to me is use the pronoun "it," not "they."
"They is" is pidgin; "they are" exacerbates the already confusing use of a plural form. I get not labelling someone as to genitalia or sexual preferences/ identity, but "they" just does not work for me. I always react "who else is he/she bringing?"

I am in quarantine with COVID...
and a chicken.

I finished the 5-day course of Paxlovid yesterday,5 more days at least til ok.

It was to be a family get-together for the holiday - first in 4 years.

I got COVID enroute Tucson from Chicago.

I spent 5 days alone in my dtr;s VRBO house; others rented another when they got here.
Now I'm in a secluded wing of my dtr's house. Family in VRBO next door.

Happy to chat. about anything.

Chicken just keeps repeating herself.
