slightly odd question, but anyone know of any good guides for js in web development that *don't* rely on any frameworks? I realise there's reasons people use them, but I want to start with the actual fundamentals

@icedquinn@blob.cat it's also said that the previous system was arbitrarily applied and made a distinction without a difference at the high end. I'm not looking to defend the new approach, but the fundamental idea that these belong in the same category is imo not the issue, but rather the lack of useful delineation within that category.

@icedquinn@blob.cat tbf if you read this, it points out that there's not a meaningful distinction at the "high" end, but I agree that there's an issue for those with more complex needs
