It's directly relevant to note that the US Veteran who was detained by the military was also an immigrant - who honorably served the country and became a citizen.

Instead of mass deportation, the US should be creating more avenues for similarly good people to contribute and become citizens.

Clinton's scandal "lasted weeks.". Trump scandals are continuously displaced by new ones and left unaddressed, building a sense of invulnerability and normalization.

Yes, Canada had slavery.

Sorry if I was unclear. I'm specifically referring to the very large role enslavers played in US independence and early history. Make a list of the Founders and early Presidents that come to mind - and see how many were enslavers.

Canada just didn't have so many, nor with as much influence, during those times. So, its society went a very different path.
