     I think you've put your finger on the key difference.

     Clinton's scandal "lasted weeks.". Trump scandals are continuously displaced by new ones and left unaddressed, building a sense of invulnerability and normalization.

     It's been one week and no one talks about a foreign government giving Trump a frickin' airplane anymore.
