I am concerned the big picture plan (haven't seen he futo talk yet) is to basically try to regulate away small players entirely.
Adding liability is a way to do it, but it sounds nice when people think of stopping big tech from censoring them, which is a fool's errand.

I'm assuming @Hyolobrika@social.fbxl.net was thinking more in terms of large services that most people are expected to be able to interact with one way or another (like github or Wikipedia).

Taking advice from people who believe that there are too many people on the planet seems like overall a bad idea.

For the record, I don't think angry emails to journalists will move the needle on anything. Arguably it's part of public servant's jobs to tough out a certain amount of feedback, but I still don't think being needlessly inflammatory productive.

But when you've got a country filled with hurting people from issues that the elite are comfortably isolated from, angry emails and social media comments are the least of your worries. When you treat the public as an expendable resource to be used up, don't be surprised when they respond in kind.

Things won't improve with tone-deaf campaigns like this, things will only get better if leadership improves which is bigger than any one person.

Canadian media & govt personalities are launching an "I deserve better" campaign in response to the hate they receive from the public.
It kinda comes off as "you can't talk to us like this" in an environment where they regularly talk down to the public about anything and everything.
People in all kinds of positions of authority seem to forget that respect is a two-way street.

The reddit is dead but allegedly other platforms have more activity.
