It's perfectly reasonable to argue Telegram has better UX than decentralized alternatives, but it's outright false to market it as a privacy-focused solution.
That said, in all this time I've wondered why the foss telegram clients haven't just been ported to "talk matrix" or "talk xmpp", best of both worlds.

People will tell you discussion is useless and that violence is the only way. But when you disagree they'll debate you on it instead of just using violence.

It's weird to see an amazing report from a think-tank but look at the rest of their stuff and see it's all garbage.
One of the reasons I'm skeptical of the "protecting our institutions" folks is that it's clear that standing on principle doesn't scale very well.

I just want to emphasize what he says at the end:...*the capitalists, we gotta start policing this stuff*...I'm curious to hear what should be done to prevent situations like this, and would like to see those involved jailed for what is highly likely illegal in some form already.

As a Canadian, who does live under single-payer, I will add that the same problems that allow this to happen also make the public option worse. No matter what your system is, accountability is crucial.
