   @gabriel @scathach I looked up the system requirements for synapse and turned 360 degrees and walked away, and all the XMPP clients are garbage. I still use it but ugh

     It's perfectly reasonable to argue Telegram has better UX than decentralized alternatives, but it's outright false to market it as a privacy-focused solution.
     That said, in all this time I've wondered why the foss telegram clients haven't just been ported to "talk matrix" or "talk xmpp", best of both worlds.
