Biden wants to tone down the rhetoric. no. We should not be toning down the truth. Since when did we start giving a pass to a person who tried to overthrow the United States government? And who is going to tell Jean Carroll?

Cars and trucks are advertised for their "fun" and "power value". For fun and power we are ratfucking our descendants. But it was fun.

As long as we have all these news silos, I see little hope of makng progress and it could result in a disaster in November. We should bring back the fairness doctrine.

    More NYC history.

On the evening of Sept. 13, 1899, Henry Hale Bliss, a 69-year-old real estate broker, was riding a Manhattan streetcar on his commute home.

At 74th Street and Central Park West, Mr. Bliss stepped from the streetcar and into the street, where he was immediately hit by a taxi. He died on the scene and is recognized as the first person in the United States to be killed by a car. There is a plaque at the intersection commemorating his death.

Given the history of streets and the automobile, if only we could turn back time and start over realizing what a mistake the widespread use of the auto was.

Let's not forget that the protestant work ethic is the handmaiden of capitalism.

The ethic was necessary to get laborers to work longer hours for more money, placing less value on leisure time. While there have been tremendous gains in productivity, this has not translated into less working hours except when mandated by the government.

Bernie's bill to change work week is dead on arrival in part because of religious brainwashing.

@scottsantens I know that the protestant ethic requires that everyone work, regardless of how shitty the job is, but that should not be a requirement.
