@bronze @Xenophon @lehtimaeki The only surprise is that people are low IQ enough to still believe the retarded "Russian bot" narrative in 2026.

@IAMAL_PHARIUS But aren't they already installed? Does maintenance for these require replacing them often?

I don't get this headline and the rational behind this apparent decision:

Trump Orders U.S. Navy to Abandon Electromagnetic Catapults on Aircraft Carriers

The U.S. President has ordered the Navy to revert to steam-powered catapults on aircraft carriers, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The publication estimates that implementing this decision could cost the government billions of dollars.

Ah ok, this is a "fuck you Russia" by the US:

@cjd @Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta I never claimed the US education system was socialist. Maybe you could argue "social democracy" but I wouldn't confound social democracy (capitalism) with socialism.

@cjd @Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta How are Democrats the only ones making money on their entire sector? I don't get it. I hate both parties with a passion. Making a hammer isn't that expensive though. It just becomes expensive when all manufacturing is abandoned for China (basically what you said). There is the manufacturing cost that is increased, but there really is a "just because we can" price gouging aspect. Military insiders have pointed that out more than a few times over the years.

@cjd The potential is there. Its execution is another thing. We know the military can't handle any money. We can't even audit them. I don't think education is losing track of billions or trillions in equipment and funds though.

@cjd Lets pretend that we for sure know education is more corrupt for a second. At least that corruption is mostly staying at a local and state level instead of international contracts with foreign nations such as Israel that get big bonuses from the military expenditures. The military can make a bunch of weapons, not use most of it for a decade, and then "donate" it to places like Ukraine or fuel black budgets. The current budget is something like 1.15 trillion for the military too.

@Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @cjd They don't sell a pencil for $100 because parents have to buy the kids pencils. Which is partially why I'm like "well the less for the military, maybe parents won't have to buy pencils for the kids". However, I realize after saying that I probably will have people coming at me saying "but why should the state buy children the pencils when parents should?".

@cjd @Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta I'm not a libertarian. I'm a socialist. I am not into privatizing health, education, military, or even certain resources. Does it mean public sectors can't do wrong or be corrupt? No, of course not. However I think certain things shouldn't be be given to vultures. So it is very possible we just might not agree on this. I say that while realizing the many pitfalls that can exist in public systems. One example include the brain-drain that exists in Canada for doctors. These things would be solved by more authoritarian means but capitalists are kind of adverse to that unless its private capital dictating the authority.

Amazing. Nice little "super power" we have over here. A trillion dollars just can't even buy it success while a trillion dollars could have done wonders for education, healthcare, pensions, and many other things. Nice little clown show we are operating over here.

@Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @cjd Yeah I definitely wouldn't disagree with that. But I hope the point I'm making is also understood. Education is a very long wavelength type of thing that takes a long time to produce results, both negative or positive. Military is more in your face with selling something that is price gouged to the government by 100x. I'd argue its similar to healthcare more than education. Education I don't think is selling a pencil for $100 but hospitals will charge insurance $50 for a single Advil.

When I see people brown nosing for more work at my job, I really am filled with a lot of rage. You aren't getting a raise dipshit. You probably won't even get a fucking high five, sit the fuck down and stop volunteering more work.

Another annoying thing is when you scratch someone's back and tell them you have their back on something that legally they are in the right about, but when you tell them of a update that you are happy about, that lowers the amount of work, they tell you something like "that is minor stuff". Ok big shot.

Having a kid definitely has helped me un-gaslight myself regarding adult behavior that is not very constructive. Minimizing peoples emotions is a great way to not be liked. "Oh you are making a big deal about that? I'm so much more above that. I only care about REAL problems." That is basically the messaging even if someone doesn't mean it that way.
