About how I went to Greece on a business trip in December 2021. I knew way less about COVID then than I do now. And I was super lucky to travel when there were mask mandates and I couldn't board my flights without a recent negative PCR test.

I have never had COVID. And I think that Greek trip is the last time I'll ever leave Toronto. Because with no protections, travel is now a sure way to get infected... 2/3 #COVIDisAirborne

This Carlos guy replied (I'm paraphrasing), "I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but why are you so sure that air travel is an almost guaranteed way to get infected with COVID?"

Context matters. We're in a raging pandemic. 90% of everyone has had COVID at least once. There is no more mandatory testing or masking, and no more reliable record keeping.

My partner has COVID for the first time. The only reason why he knows is because of the tests I buy him. Including Lucira tests.

I'm at zero risk from him. He doesn't live with me. I haven't seen him in two weeks and he's not going to see me for at least another two weeks. He needs multiple negatives before I let him see me again.

I've never been infected because I'm privileged + extremely careful. I work from home, live alone, HEPA filters, elastomeric respirators... 1/2
