Based on some cross-ref job posts, the Saudi military is desperate to try and cut their umbilical cord from the US.

See, we SELL the hardware and even TRAIN their personnel, but when Saudis need something, they tug the leash of whatever republican dogs they have in DC, to get the US military to do their dirty work for them, because their military has the toys, but are woefully incompetent, at organic and systemic levels.

Money does NOT buy you skill or will.

The thing is, they keep dangling pretty good salaries/perks for US qualified veterans/SMEs to go there and teach the skills to their troops/officers.

But, at the end of the day, the regime of bought-rank and shame-killing/other idiocies means the issue is not where the instructors are, but where their training culture and mindset are.

It has not been working. The princeling officers only want the status and social ladder step.The troops want only the pay/status security.

It's a sacred tradition.

Works fairly well, because usually the tire rate corresponds to the engine size. It starts becoming not such a good idea when you hit Big Honking Murican V8s, unless you are going for *serious* M/T dozen-ply tires, etc.
