One thing I haven’t seen discussed about native app development is dealing with a percentage of users who keep using an out-of-date version of an app, sometimes for years.
If an app has 100s of 1000s –or more– of active users, that could mean 1000s actively using builds that are missing features or critical bug fixes.
What are some good strategies to avoid this? How do the big apps solve this? Identify these users and send them an email? Pop up an alert in-app? What if that still doesn't work?
The fact that it's Windsor feels particularly relevant to me, as the Mayor of Windsor is the co-chair of the provincial government's Housing Supply Action Plan Implementation Team.
“Let’s face it, a lot of social media interaction is likely bots already anyway, so maybe, then, AI social is the next stage, which will help to address the loneliness epidemic.”
I’m at a loss for words for how buckwild that statement is.
I have the inkling that courting war criminals and keeping to arm an openly Theo-fascist goverment committing genocide might not have work well for the Blues, especially when the one courting the Republican voters is a black and brown woman who seems to be ok with Brown people being slaughtered, immigrants being weaponised and deamonised, and Black people being incarcerated.
Fascism is inevitable if the wider people feel poorer and less secure than they want to be. People like that seek to blame others, and that leads to fascism.
To defeat fascism, you tax the rich and spend it on the poor. You eliminate billionaires.
That's the only mechanism that will reliably work over periods of time.
EU; change tactics. Stop walking the USA/UK path. Raise taxes on the rich, spend on your public services. Watch the fascists power vanish.
@raineyday it’s infuriating. It’s like they know there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it, so they do it in order to get the result they want. Zero ethics.
@deltatux@danwentzel You're not "shifting the burden to taxpayers". Taxpayers who ride transit already carry the burden. You are including taxpayers who benefit from transit but don't ride it.
@danwentzel Not necessarily $0 to ride, but don't collect the fare at the point of entry. Bill everyone who benefits, through the property tax system, every month. (Drivers get the most benefit because it removes much of the traffic that is in their way). Fare collection is expensive and clumsy. Also, unemployed person needing to get to job interview: shouldn't be dependant of if they have the funds at that moment.
