But hey I achieved something today I thought I never would. I got BsI to output the text I meant to type. That's definitely new.

OK. So. Hold phone in screen away mode, locked to tabletop mode, reversed dot positions, with power button on top. That is my configuration. It's definitely not comfortable, but it works. I was able to type a sentence.

Sorry BSI enthusiasts I'm not switching from my direct touch keyboard though.

Missed the apostrophe but the rest was fine. I think this is the first time I ever got this to actually output proper text.

The reason I like direct touch normal keyboard is it requires very little phone juggling. It's very quick to do. It also isn't full screen so I can still kind of explore the visible parts of the screen above the keyboard. I'd also say it's really quick to type with two thumbs but I suppose that's more familiarity than anything else. You can probably be pretty quick with BsI too especially with contracted braille input. I forgot a lot of my English contracted braille though so I'd have to relearn that. I only ever really read German contracted braille. Which obviously won't work well for typing in English

It is still, and will always be, unfathomable to me that we fix big company's inability to make good websites by patching it in our browsers. Out of so many questionable web practices this one has to rank all the way up there among some of the most ridiculous. No. How about you use your trillions to fix your code. Thanks. BRB gonna go open a bug report in chromium because I can't use web tech properly and have them fix it for me in the browser instead.

I'm glad everybody could make it to this meeting in such short notice and I'm sorry for ringing all of you out of bed at 2 in the morning, but I've got two very important tasks that need to be done.
Number one, I just got a notification from our yt-dlp cluster that 2 nodes just went offline and have stopped scraping content. I don't think I need to make clear to you how important it is that this gets resolved immediately and these nodes are brought back online so they can continue downloading.
Number two, we've detected unauthorized scraping of all of our content. As you might imagine, this needs to be stopped immediately. Go grab yourself a bunch of lawyers and stop those thieves. This is very important!

You can also slightly misconfigure DNS and it will break in strange ways. Slowly. over time. More and more. And some misconfigurations really should break but somehow do not. Yeah DNS is just one of those things which should make sense but the more you think you understand the more it laughs in your face.

Every single time I have to deal with one DNS issue or another I think... how can it be that things haven't completely and utterly fallen over and destroyed themselves yet? It's kind of like an old tape player. You know at some point the player should start eating the tape but for some reason it just isn't happening.

There are many things related to computing where it's a miracle that things somehow actually kinda work.
One of them, of course, is DNS.

If you told me this morning I'd spend literally my entire sunday fixing my homelab and losing a whole bunch of data by accident then... wow you're mean. but also you'd be pretty good at telling the future. How do you do it?

also no don't worry this situation is impossible for the cave. these were personal instances for which my backup strategy wasn't as robust as the one for the cave.

the annoying part isn't that I somehow nuked the instances. I could set them up from scratch easily enough. it's more that as far as I'm aware I can now no longer do this using the same domain. which is a lot more unfortunate because I really liked it.
