I am not a lawyer. In my ignorance, I have assumed that people who violate the orders of federal judges---gleefully and in front of cameras---go to jail.

I don't understand why Bovino is not in jail now, with his second in command required to make the daily status reports to the judge. I ask, unironically, can you explain this?

Joe #Rogan and all his listeners are welcome to join the anti-fascist coalition. This is how we win. A significant number of people who voted for Trump have to change their minds.

I'm not suggesting that he's forgiven, or that he should be given a position of responsibility, or anything crazy like that. But if that guy is defecting from the #fascist team, I'm not going to say no.

Instead of "US forces attacked suspected drug smugglers," may I suggest:

"The U.S. military summarily executed several people in international waters, without any legal process whatsoever. The Trump administration, which lies continually, claims the victims were suspected drug smugglers. But there is no evidence even of the suspicion, let alone the truth of the suspicion.

With regard to #Tor #OnionServices on the #Fediverse,

I've set up a Mitra instance as an onion service, with lots of help from @silverpill. From there I should be able to federate with clearnet instances that proxy via Tor.

I understand Mitra, Pleroma, and Epicyon, amont others, can proxy via Tor. Has anyone gotten a clearnet instance of Mastodon to proxy via Tor? There are tantalizing hints in the documentation. https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/config/#hidden-services

The SPLC notes that "SouthFront is an online disinformation site registered in Russia that receives taskings from the FSB."

So the question becomes, what does it take to get suspended from cyperplace.social? Because if spreading literal Russian disinformation isn't enough, then #FediBlock is appropriate.

#Tor and #ActivityPub experts, I'm curious to know if anyone has attempted to create a Fediverse instance as an Onion Service.

I understand that server-to-server communications in ActivityPub use HTTPS POST. So I imagine the sticking point would be routing server-to-server communications over the Tor network from, say, mastodon.social to valencia.onion.

Is this a problem with a trivial solution? Or perhaps an intractable one?

We are going to see massive theft of public funds by the #fascists and their rich #collaborators. We need to face the fact that the thieves won't be jailed, or even investigated, they'll just get richer.

The fact that rich thieves almost always get away with it should be the strongest argument for a #WealthTax.

The Associated Press, and the rest of the press, should know that White House events aren't something that interests me. It will be a parade of lies, with a sprinkling of verbal abuse of reporters. The truth will not be found there.

So the AP should tell the White House to shove it. And then go outside and report on the yawning chasm between what the President is actually doing, and what he claims he is doing.

In other democratic countries (I hear), it's the responsibility of government to get citizens on the voter rolls. In the U.S., it's considered the responsibility of the citizen to register.

The American system makes no sense until it's seen as a vestige of the #JimCrow era, in which white supremacists were looking for ways to prevent formerly enslaved people from voting. Thus the default is "You can't vote."

I thought I might spend more time worrying about Joe #Biden having a bad debate.

But now that the #SupremeCourt has decided that the President is above the law, I think I'm done debating whether Biden is old. That topic is officially closed.

From now on, the people arguing about whether Biden can do the job of #POTUS are just distracting us from the vastly more important question of whether Trump gets to be a dictator.
