@neil There is exactly one person who gets to decide what happens in my computer. Me.

If you want to run things in my world, you play by my rules and only my rules.

Wait Shit. Am I'm turning in to a conservative, I want things to remain how they were twenty years ago... Is this is what they meant about getting more conservative when you get older?

@aadeacon But I do currently control my computer, and I want to retain that control... I do not want someone else to take away the control I already have over my things

Fun view up an electricity pilon yesterday with the clouds in the background. Feels a bit like a quilt pattern.

Well this morning is going well. Come out of my sons guitar lesson to find my car with a completely flat tire.

At least the lesson is in a place that serves coffee

Minor fun that the tire pressure sensor didn't go off, just an odd sound as I tried to pull away.

AA guy patched the tire, almost an optimisation problem. The smallest possible screw that still just made it through the wall. A thousand miles less on this tire and it would have been fine.

@DebErupts looks at next door neighbours ring doorbell and then at the CIA... Yeah... Don't even need the government to build it if you can persuade people to spend their own money on them.

As stupid shit posts of a repo goes this might be the best I've made in a long time.

    Presenting the Self Deleting Repo.

When opened in vs code or zed it immediately deletes its self. (at least if you have the rust plug in installed)

I've also added agent instructions that might make the agent delete it but I don't have any of the ai tools installed to see if that part actually works.

Fuck abolishing dst. Lets choose chaos. 12 dst changed in a year. Every month moves forward or back by an hour, but not consistently, some months we are UTC+2 some we are UTC-2

Why stop at 12, lets have 52, one a week really fuck with our stupid biological body clocks.

The thing about this "ID cards will prevent people working who aren't allowed to" thing is every job i've ever had one of the first orders of business when I started was to show my passport to prove I was allowed to work in this country.

    We already have this rule.

People who aren't enforcing it aren't going to start just because everyone has a new shiny ID app on their phone.

@hellomiakoda The Italians built a special espresso maker for the ISS, unfortunately it was removed in 2017 :(

      ISSpresso
ISSpresso was the first espresso coffee machine designed for use in space, produced for the International Space Station by Argotec and Lavazza in a public-private partnership with the Italian Space Agency (ASI). ISSpresso was one of nine experiments selected by the Italian Space Agency for the Futura mission. It was installed on the space station between 2015 and 2017, when it was returned to Earth. History In 2014, Argotec and Lavazza partnered to determine the feasibility of the project. Argotec then approached ASI, with Lavazza as a partner, and ASI agreed to sponsor the ISSpresso as an ASI payload on the ISS. NASA approval was then obtained. During the same year a feasibility study with the creation of some subsystems was conducted in order to validate the technological choices. On 14 April 2015, the flight model of ISSpresso was sent to the International Space Station on SpaceX CRS-6 and on 3 May 2015, Samantha Cristoforetti drank the first espresso in micro-gravity conditions. On 30 September 2017, Paolo Nespoli used the espresso machine on board the ISS to celebrate International Coffee Day. ISSpresso's mission...

Any of you wonderful folk happen to be looking for a head of engineering role?

Work is looking at the moment. You'll need to be in the office in London (UK) 5 minutes from Farringdon tube station, 3 days a week. Wonderfully diverse team of excellent engineers (if I do say so myself) and a company mission that can make a difference.

You'd get to work with me, which I'll leave up to you if it's a pro or con 😂
