DruidReminder: Your creative projects HAVE WORTH even if (maybe even ESPECIALLY if) they aren't monetised in any way. Don't give up on drawing, writing, composing etc. just because the corporate internet has turned creative expression into a nightmarish numbers game! Don't give in to despair about AI either!
@hidden@arcana When I was a teenager in the early 2000s I had a Japanese girl pen pal through some pen pal project, and in one email I linked her something on my FTP server... and she poked around in the rest of it and found all my Hermione futa pics
@lanodan No offense, but you're a weeb!! I mean, so am I. Kinda.
That's the thing. That's the THING. I loved anime when I was 13, and I wish I could still love it in the same way now. To me it's emblematic of imagination itself, it offered an escape from the everyday world (which children are, rightfully, desperate for) into a world of POSSIBILITY. But I feel like, over time, that escape into possibility has become an escape into comfort - the audience has changed and the industry has changed.
So I keep thinking "Maybe I can get that feeling back?" but every time I try and watch anime these days I have a bad time. Last thing I watched was Suzume and jesus christ it was absolute deranged nonsense, I gave it a pass for the strong love theme but the whole time I was thinking "what the fuck am I doing with my life?"
The Tales games have always taken that vintage, Xenogears-esque, deadly serious faced approach to building their colourful weeb worlds and stepping back into that world for a while sounds fun.
But yes, I just really want to spend time with that lady knight. :<
However: >Honestly I'm not that much of a weeb anymore and I might not like it >£18.99 is still an oof price for something I might dislike (price of the "good edition" on cdkeys) >The only game I've actually BEATEN in this depressed arc is Orbo's Oddysey (which is 3 hours)
@eemmaa@arcana@lucy@snacks I don't think I have the stomach to watch it honestly, even though I want to know which name of """"""""""""""""""""God""""""""""""""""""""" they call out when they do it (it's probably HaShem)
@arcana@lucy@snacks Neither of you are mentioning that this practice only began so that blood could be offered to the blood god lol...
If you're making something from the blood (e.g. black pudding/blood sausage) then all the kosher nonsense about making sure that blood is still nice and fresh when it goes to the god of drains doesn't really apply lmao
(Also at least in the UK, halal slaughter has mandated stunning now but kosher doesn't lol)
