Cast-iron pan owners of Mastodon, how do you wash them after you're done using them?

Who do you bank with? SF FIRE Credit Union has kinda gone to shit so I'm thinking of switching back to a conventional bank.

@kingrat Ah interesting. I'm using my phone's native editing tool (I have a Motorola moto g play 2024, Android version 14). For me if the original file is named say "Screenshot_20251102-104459.png" and I edit it the resulting file will be "Screenshot_20251102-104459~2.png". When I opened that second file in an image viewer (IrfanView) on my laptop it told me that was an incorrect file extension, and would I like to rename it.

Apparently when you take a screenshot on Android it creates a PNG file, but if you then edit that screenshot (say by cropping it) the resulting file will have the file extension .png but it will actually be a JPEG!

@skinnylatte True. Tiburon does seem like a nice place to bike around though so I would like to visit some day.

In his book "Finishing the Hat" Stephen Sondheim, who grew up in Manhattan, talks about having never been to Brooklyn "except for the occasional Dodgers game" which I thought was crazy until I remembered I'm from San Francisco and I've literally never been to Tiburon.

You probably know the actor Jon Voight. But did you know one of his brothers is a songwriter who wrote "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning" and his other brother is a geologist who became famous for predicting the Mt. St. Helens eruption a month in advance?

@kingrat The last time I was in Bird & Beckett books in Glen Park I asked the owner Eric if he carried Bernie's autobiography and he answered "No" in a way that led me to believe it was a deliberate choice not to carry it. Unfortunately as an Eltonologist I will have to read it at some point.

Doonesbury is still a thing? I assumed that ended a long time ago.

Bluesky's starter packs for people to follow are a good idea, but they should have starter packs for accounts to block too. I might re-join if I knew I wouldn't be at risk of seeing posts from Muller She Wrote, JojoFromJerz, or any other liberal grifters.

I should probably get an SSL certificate for my website, huh. I can apparently get one for $30/year.

I want to say thanks to everyone who played my California Counties game, I'm glad people liked it. I added a new feature, an "I Give Up" button that will end the game and list all 58 counties.
