We returned from our honeymoon and went straight to this concert. Miles Davis went on first apparently because Shepp's bass player was held up in traffic. When Archie Shepp came on you could hear the seats slap up as Miles fans left. We stayed to enjoy a fantastic gig #1967
I'm 77 this year and as long as I can remember the USA has blockaded Cuba. Cuba is beautiful and the culture of Cuba is wonderful. The world should come to the aid of Cuba and destroy the blockade for good.
It's funny that Trump's people think Europeans are freeloaders. As an English kid born 4 years post WW2, I grew up and as an adult lived with a thing called 'The National Debt'. It wasn't paid off for decades. It was money we had to pay the USA for helping us out fighting Germany and Japan in WW2. I wouldn't mind but they were very reluctant to help until Pearl Harbour. Oh and my Dad was on the beaches 6th June D Day
No pics but our two cats have had some food treats including tuna, been out momentarily on the balcony. Now out for the count on our two armchairs. They will be there until it's dark.
I wish I could persuade all the what'sapp groups in the blocks of the estate to move to Signal. They were all set up in 2020 as mutual aid groups . I tried in my block and only one joined.
@largess@CelloMomOnCars As an individual I will carry on recycling, reduce greatly buying new. I will vote for degrowth but I also don't have much hope. I'm 76 in June, my husband is 80 next month. I've know about climate since I was in my teens. I don't have a car or own property. I have one grown child and feel very sorry about his future.
If you follow me and I haven't followed you back it's mainly because you have no introduction or information about yourself. I also do not follow requests for money. I donate via specific channels and also have to manage my own limited income
Listening to Louis Armstrong's Hot 5. Recorded about 100 years ago with the brilliant Lil Hardin on piano, aka Mrs Armstrong. The inventor of scat singing and the jazz solo
Yesterday my son lost his wallet on a London bus This morning the wallet was pushed through his letterbox, intact, with a note attached which just said. 'Mate, you left this on the bus, good luck'.
It's great to be reminded that there are good folk .
On this Valentines Day Friday and the horror of world, I am baking bread, then after a meal at home going to the Rogal Festival Hall to listen to live music. Tomorrow I will finalise the Agenda for the first meeting of the GLEE Group on Sunday morning. It's a constituted Events Group for the residential Estate where I live. #TryingToLiveWithoutDespair
@sysop408@Remittancegirl I've been active out there but are not able to do much now due to age and health. There are very good reasons why some are vocal online but not out there.
