    No. The notion that a flat tax would prevent people from voting for "free stuff" assumes that all government benefits and services are seen as unfairly distributed. In reality, many public services (like infrastructure, education, and healthcare) are funded by taxes and benefit society as a whole. A flat tax does not inherently stop people from supporting policies that involve government spending on public goods or social safety nets.

    A person making $15,000 will have $1500 taken out of their income.

    A person making $40,000 will have $4000 taken out of their income.

    A person making $100,000 will have $10,000 taken out of their income.

    As you can see, unless you're the guy making $100,000 you're getting raped.

    Specifically, I was in NCHB-1 (Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 1) and were tasked with resupply of Macmurdo Station.

    There's a very narrow window to get into Antarctica and then you have to haul ass out of there or you're going to be a FUWO (Fucked Up Winter Over).
