@RamenCatholic @kris_of_pnictogen And as someone who has picked up dry ice wearing only nitrile gloves: meh, you'll live if you poke it. The issue is how long/tightly you hold it (I realized it was a problem when I was doing it repeatedly and got weird patches of dry skin on a few of my fingers, so I switched to using a scoop pretty much all of the time). Though this might fall into the "Sam does something foolish at work don't try this at home" category.
@RamenCatholic Yeah, freeze driers aren't cheap because it's both a vacuum pump system and a freezer. (speaking as someone who helps maintain a lab grade one and is currently trying to get a repair tech out for a potential $5k visit...)
On time this week! Will I follow the movie? TBD!
@jonny Thank you!
I was all excited for this and I can't get any of the streams to work, when I normally have no issues. Guess my internet connection is being tetchy tonight. Booooo!!!!
Restarted the computer and my router, got the miru stream working (sort of?) I'm behind and tuned in to see a woman cut by an electric carving knife (which all sort of freak me out). Eww.
Morse code? Uh, what?
Also I think most people decode by writing out the dots/dashes and then working it out, can anyone actually keep up with hearing it fast enough to decode it by ear?
Maybe the ham radio folks I guess? Old school telegraph operators?
I have so many concerns about this scene with the sewers...particularly after being reminded of how good sewer work is done by rereading some Rivers of London books recently (I didn't read that far back, but they did make a quip about it since at this point it's a running gag).
Notes on wheat pasting:
@passenger @Edmonds_Scanner Considering the requirements as I've read them are grey hair, creaky joints, and a surfeit of grumpiness I don't see why it shouldn't be?
@RamenCatholic Ice cream. You have to keep it cold with the power of your mind. Together we can do it!
@RamenCatholic I voted well because I really, really don't want to see it done for highway and dam construction, but would love if it was for building high speed rail lines, hardening the infrastructure against climate change (particular the electrical grid & clean water supplies), expanding high speed internet access to rural areas via non-satellite means, renovating public schools with high quality ventilation systems (this has been shown to improve learning by significant amounts! clean air matters and not just for disease control!), and I could go on with my pipe dreams of high quality important infrastructure, but I won't because none of it is likely to happen... (if it does you can feel free to screen shot this and mock me in a decade, I will happily admit my mistake)
Oh wow, whoever on here said the soundtrack was going to be good was right. This is already interesting (in a good and different way).
@jonny Thank you, I needed one!
The prosthetic ears: so obviously fake, but it doesn't matter I still want them.
Fellow people who make reports about content that harms others (and yes, it's great you do this!): your mods are people too, make sure to use the little description box along with the little generic check-y box to give them a heads up to brace themselves for things. "bigotry" and "harassment" are very broad categories, and not every mod wants to handle every topic, give them the opportunity to pass to someone else for their own mental health if necessary.
@skinnylatte I've been to diners that had a short order cook who knew what "over medium" was and that's IMO the perfect fried egg. A vanishing breed, worth their weight in gold.
Oh wait, wasn't Danae the Zeus appears as a shower of gold to impregnate her one? No wonder he wants Perseus to live, that's a pretty cool trick, gotta have the baby for proof!
Was that "let loose the kraken?" Do we already have a wrong mythos siting?

I'm not being weird at you specifically, I'm being weird at everyone...Warning for the new instance: the much higher character limit might cause me to go mad with power. Take that into account before following.
