i don't mean caring about like Issues. i mean just caring how other people are really feeling. wanting to hear the truth from people you care about. i hate that anyone thinks it's unacceptable to just make a post about how they feel shitty and could use some help or support. that sucks so bad!!!
the Corn Telethon in support of sex worker organizations is live now! right now some pretty ladies are talking about being adult performers. they have all kinds of things and guests planned.
For those outside the U.S. and U.K., is it a huge trope in your location's or language's storytelling that parents will cover up their children's (of any age) crimes, including murder? This is such a strange moral issue that I think about a lot. I'm curious if it's more universal, please boost for more reach.
i'm finishing a book that's turned from just bad to one of the most ableist things i've read from the last 10 years, so i'm just going to bitch about it openly to shine some light on these harmful tropes and myths. the book is "don't believe it" by charlie donlea, a chicago-area author apparently
I see a lot of fellow white users who get embroiled in all this drama every day and the way they talk has such powerful Main Character Syndrome energy. Like keeping folders full of posts about themselves and expecting everyone to know who they are. Wild shit!
To me, it's telling that while there are almost countless queer users on here, there are vanishingly few active Black users and they keep leaving. That is the culture. Disproportionately blaming anything on so few people is nonsensical and seems racist. If you do that and sincerely believe you aren't being racist, I'd suggest doing your blame math again with the right proportions in place.
Seeing some wild stuff on here today. If you genuinely think most of the fediverse's very few Black users are transphobic harassers, despite many of the main characters themselves being trans and receiving transphobic AND anti-Black harassment on here -- to me that sounds like something I would really look inward about before suggesting everyone just block and report Black users. Like the last week unfolded because someone picked a weird fight with DAIR over nothing. An anti-AI thinktank.
@are0h jesus, this is chilling. I feel surprised by the college whites' full denial of poverty and jobs as critical issues, but my nonwhite bf does not and I'm sure he's right
it's dies veneris and i have a MIGRAINE but also need to work and #amwriting. i got 810 words this morning then took an emergency nap. are you working today? what's the good word?
hi everyone! today is the last day for @queergamesbundle. if you like any kind of game, including ones where you click through stories rather than run around, please check it out before we stop in seven hours.
if you aren't really a games person -- or think you aren't ;) -- this is still a way to pay a small amount but split proceeds among 271 creators. it's like a mutual fund, where you buy one reasonably priced "share" and make a diversified investment.
If you like something, give that feedback -- rate it, review it, smash that like button, tell the creator you enjoyed it. Some of those help materially and all help psychically. Tell more people you like their stuff.
Sparked by posts with @/hecleretical, I'd love to hear from masc folks about what their hair norms have been. Are there rules at jobs, for sports, in school, peer pressure from social groups or religious groups? Has it changed over time? (Feel free to boost, and please take "masc" inclusively and with love!)
I'm delighted to share that Queer Games Bundle is now on the itch.io homepage alongside a TTRPGs for Palestine charity bundle I would also encourage you to check out!
also, we're updating our press list for #QueerGamesBundle and i know things are grim (i work as a journalist!), but if you're someone who writes about or talks about games -- let me know and i'm happy to add you to our list.
reply here (private is fine) with your email and where you write or talk. please don't let the term "press" scare you, if you're someone who blogs or has a chat podcast or anything else like that. we just want to reach people who are excited about sharing queer games.
Hi. It's me. I'm doing something hard for me soon and I wouldn't be mad if you wanted to share some calm, sweet, funny things, like pictures of animals or VERY harmless anecdotes haha
