On the one hand, EU is lucky that #Trump team is so incompetent, the #Trump administration has no concrete plan for Ukranine yet.
On the other hand, Trump plan will be essentially Putin's plan. EU needs to prepare for a coordinated pincer movement, be it political or militrary in nature, by #Russia and the #USA
@WarnerCrocker Sorry if I caused any misunderstanding: when I said "I don't agree with this war rheotoric", I am referring to the Biden and Trump admininstrations' language in their policy and strategy. That's why they chose to place an embargo on AI chips or pour billions into Stargate. While this kind of policy may make sense in many other area, it won't work on AI because AI is essentially software.
@WarnerCrocker New startups always become a target of DDOS attacks. It's just an operational issue and any competent startup can resolve it quickly. I don't agree with this "war" rheotoric. On the surface USA and China are in a competition in the area of AI tech. But AI will eventually become as mundane as databases. We are just dazed by the pace of the evolution in this space: Google & OpenAI's models already feel like the expensive IBM mainframe db IMS whereas DeepSeek is the cheap MS Access.
@OGjester@mrbadger42 For an outsider like me, I find it a lazy excuse for Americans to absolve themselves of their complicity. Trump did not emerge from a vacuum to embody all the ills of American society. No, he is a reflection of you, and you are a reflection of him. You chose him as your POTUS aka "God Emperor", twice.
"#Pulitzer-winning Ann #Teinaes left Jeff Bezosโs Post after the paper spiked a #cartoon of her that insulted Jeff #Bezos.
In a blink, there was cartoonist solidarity. A pantheon of superstarsโBarry Blitt, Stephen Brodner, Dave Whammond, and Emma Cookโwent full I Am Spartacus and did fantastic tributes to her original cartoon."
@liztai Maybe there is more pressure on a k-drama production to stand out these days to attract foreign streaming platforms to buy the rights? ๐ค I am also under the impression that the entertainment industry in Korea at large is quite comfortable with graphic violence. Think about the movie "OldBoy" (2003) which inspired so many subsequent martial arts movies.
Given Thiel's connection and resourcefulness, he probably can engineer something to make JD Vance the next POTUS real fast. For example, some previously unknown heart condition of Trump. :blobcatgooglyshrug:
A Vance Presidency can effectively lock Musk out of the power circle.
USA will lead the world into a new age of "Techbrocracy" (Not to be confused with "#technocracy")
So this guy Michael Wolff has over some โ100 hoursโ of tapes of #Epstein talking about Trump, yet he only just decided to release them now through his podcast, a few days before the election.
"Trump is a thread to democracy" these people say, but they will only share the details if they get a book deal or something. :eyeroll:
College students used Metaโs smart glasses to dox people in real time
"In the demo, you can see Nguyen and Caine Ardayfio, the other student behind the project, use the glasses to identify several classmates, their addresses, and names of relatives in real time. Perhaps more chilling, Nguyen and Ardayfio are also shown chatting up complete strangers on public transit, pretending as if they know them based on information gleaned from the tech."
During opening round of the women's breaking competition, Talash, an #Afghan girl competing for the Olympic Refugee Team, pulled off her shirt mid dance to reveal a blue cape reading "Free Afghan Women". IOC disqualified her for making a "political statement".
