Never forget the people who said our justice system was legit these last four years despite being 0% effective at preventing Chump from having a completely frictionless path back to the presidency.
When you hear people complain about the U.S. postal service sucking, remind them that it is being made to purposely suck by people who are intentionally trying to destroy it. Our Postmaster General Louis Dejoy - the second-highest paid federal employee, after the president - owns a shitload of stock in companies that directly compete with #USPS.
@SmudgeTheInsultCat So, activists could face consequences for showing an image of Elon doing his nazi salute… but the nazi salute guy gets to keep his giant factory going in Berlin, consequence-free. Do I have that right?
This is a good day to tell the nearly legendary tale of my great uncle Doug.
Doug enlisted in the army after high school, right before the U.S. entered the war. After fighting in Normandy, he also fought in Battle of St. Lo and the Battle of the Bulge. He killed truckloads of Nazis. However, it wasn’t until his funeral that his most amazing story was told:
As Allied forces approached and surrounded Berlin, Hitler committed suicide, and those who took his command tried to negotiate a surrender with British and U.S. forces, but they wanted to keep fighting the Russians. The Allies rejected this proposal. At last, the Germans agreed to an unconditional surrender. News of this was communicated to Supreme Allied Command in London, and General Eisenhower ordered Allied troops to stand down.
Update on that whole “let’s privatize space” thing:
If the timelines of the development of the Saturn V rocket and the development of SpaceX’s Starship were compared side-by-side from the same starting point, you’d notice that Saturn V had been developed, had successfully completed a dozen flights, took a bunch of guys safely to the moon, put a space station in orbit, and had been retired at the point where Starship had just experienced its 4th failed test flight without ever carrying people.
@BNONews Yeah, that whole “privatize space” thing is going great.
By this same time in the development of the Saturn V rocket, NASA was performing successful manned test flights, without all the explosions. So many explosions!
I was thinking about how to articulate how radical #RightToWork legislation is… so let’s take it to the opposite extreme.
Imagine a bunch of socialists and communists getting together and drafting “Right to Buy” legislation. Their argument is that if you go into a store, and you don’t like the price of an item, or if you simply don’t want to pay, you should have the right to just take it with no recourse from the store.
That’s how extreme Right-to-Work bills sound to a #union guy. #labor
@simsa03 Click on my profile. There should be three lines or three dots in the top right. Click on that. You’ll have the option to block me there. Buh-bye.
Here’s why #LuigiMangione became an instant folk hero, and rightfully so:
We have an incredibly inequitable system - most of all, in terms of wealth. If you’re not spectacularly rich, our system doesn’t do jack shit for you. You can write to your “representatives”, and they’ll send you some hollow form letter unless you cut a fat check to their campaign fund. Voting doesn’t fix this.
We’ve all felt trapped in this unresponsive system for decades.
From a different timeline - the one where nazis and fascists are bad; where fields in Europe are drenched with the blood of nazis and fascists who were killed by my ancestors. I swear a lot. 100% immune to the Chump mind virus. We’re all equal; how hard is it to say that? The entirety of the Democratic Party is to the right of me and millions of other Americans. At this point, the link to your Xitter account is a badge of dishonor. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
