You know, maybe splitting the country in two really is the best solution. Over the long run, the country made up of prosperous, educated blue states will blow away the country of dumb, freeloading red states. Moving to Colorado or Oregon sounds really great.

@silverwizard I know that moniker has been used historically, but I can’t see how anyone will use it going forward without being laughed at. There are people retiring today who have lived their whole lives without seeing a Republican president who didn’t crash the economy.

Forget all other issues, and consider the following: there are two parties. One party almost always enables incredible economic growth, while the other party crashes the economy every time they’re in office, unnecessarily bringing about widespread suffering and profound hardship that touches almost every person in the country.

Why would anyone vote for the latter? Are people seriously willing to lose their jobs, homes, and life savings if it means lgbtq and not-white people are unhappy? Really?

Have any “criminals” been deported who have committed more crimes than our felon president?

On Monday, I bought body patch panels for my classic car in anticipation of the dipshit’s tariffs. That’ll be the last purchase I make for a long, long time.

@gerrymcgovern Railroader here… I know this is anecdotal, but I have a front row seat to the amount of coal moving on the rails out of the big coal mines in Wyoming and Montana. For one of the large western railroads (the orange one), current coal volume is at a 30-year low. The only country in the Americas where coal use is currently increasing is Canada; in Europe, it’s dropping through the floor. I don’t think the statement “There is no Energy Transition” is a fair one.

NASA’s Saturn V rocket from before I was born is beating SpaceX’s Starship by the metrics Elon promised Starship would excel. It could carry more, it was reliable, and it never experienced any “rapid disassemblies” or whatever he calls it.

In 2022, #NASA sent Artemis 1 on a successful test flight around the MOON on its FIRST ATTEMPT. Starship has yet to complete a single orbit around the Earth in 8 attempts.

The guy who hasn’t managed to come up with any hint of plan to replace the Affordable Care Act in 8 years wants you to believe he has a plan to bring back the economy after his stupid ass tariffs burn it all down.

So, if you don’t buy something tomorrow, but then go buy it next Monday, corporations don’t notice anything. Play the long game, folks.

@sidereal Railroader here. What happened in ‘22 will be remembered by us for a generation. Railroads testified on the public record that they believe their workers contribute nothing to their profits, and therefore don’t deserve a raise that even keeps up with inflation… and Biden couldn’t bring himself to take a stand against that. He caved when it mattered, and he zeroed out the contributions to the union PACs overnight. A REAL pro-union president would have let us strike.
