Crazy how shining a light on anything Republicans want to do causes them to deny it, distance themselves from it, and act like they know nothing about it... as if everything they want to do just completely sucks.
Now that another disastrous #SCOTUS session has ended, #ClarenceFuckingThomas will no doubt be hitting the road in his billionaire-purchased RV. Here’s what it looks like... you know, just in case.
This probably should have been done after the 2016 election, but since nothing has changed since then...
The Democratic Party needs to be demolished down to the bedrock and rebuilt, or we need a new party to the left of them. This neoliberal misadventure and enduring Clinton-era establishment has reached its inevitable dead end. There is no talent there worth salvaging; it’s just decades of unforced errors, seemingly purposeful losing, and betrayal to the working class.
Alito isn’t going to be held to any standards. Same with Thomas. They’re going to do whatever the hell their traitorous asses feel like doing, and you’re just going to sit there and take it. No one’s going to protest because no one cares.
This is real failed state stuff. Calling this a kangaroo court would be an insult to kangaroos. Why does anyone continue to believe in this? (Somewhat dated article)
@DemocracyMattersALot I mean, multiple SCOTUS justices are brazenly corrupt, openly seditious, and a third of the court was appointed by an actual traitor, and yet there is no protest; no action; no backlash whatsoever. Everyone is content to let these clowns carry out their GODDAMNED LIFETIME TERMS without any accountability at all.
@scottsantens As a U.S. railroader, I have a front row seat to watch how purist capitalists operate. I became an ardent supporter of UBI after I realized that the goal of any large shareholder-owned corporation is to have zero employees. They literally assign zero value to labor, and have said so publicly.
They will eventually succeed in getting rid of all the good jobs, so I enthusiastically support taxing the shareholder class (the job destroyers) and distributing it through UBI.
I know I say this once in awhile, but it’s worth noting:
Every good railroad track inspector out there has found something on the track during their career that has prevented a derailment. The money saved by that derailment that never happened would more than pay for all the wages, insurance, tools, training, and equipment for that track inspector’s entire career.
Today, I found one of those derailment-type track defects, and paid for my whole career for about the fifth time.
If all wealth in excess of one billion dollars was taxed at 100%, the quality of life of billionaires wouldn’t be diminished one iota, and the quality of life for the rest of us would be improved in ways we could barely imagine.
@Outersider@OGjester it was discussed... but it would have meant jail; at that point, we’d be breaking laws.
The goal should be to repeal the Railway Labor Act. That thing is so stacked in favor of the railroads, it’s ridiculous... even more so now that railroads know that even “the most pro-union president ever” isn’t going to let us strike.
From a different timeline. There are fields in Germany soaked with the blood of Nazis and fascists who were killed by my ancestors, so yeah... I’m anti-fascist. Proudly. Forever. I swear a lot. 100% immune to the Trump mind virus. The entirety of the Democratic Party is to the right of me and millions of other Americans. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
