@NaClKnight There are some boss fights in the early game which benefit greatly from being able to deal elemental damage. Without it, you need higher level characters to do enough damage to finish those fights because of counter-attacks or attrition. Byblos is one of them, here's the entry for that boss on the new Four Job Fiesta wiki. As noted, Monk at least gets the command Focus (noted with an ! at the start), but it takes longer to execute than a normal attack.

I've got a 2nd game of FF5 going using #FourJobFiesta rules, but the jobs were picked by the off-season page, so it's not official. I wanted to try out the Onion job set and I got one of the worst combinations: Thief/Monk/Bard/Dragoon. Geomancer instead of bard would be the other. I had to grind for Byblos and Soul Cannon took some resets. I just got through Archaeoaevis. But, even now bard's ability to cause stop is looking pretty nice.

@NaClKnight I'm also now wondering if Guile can flash kick Cody's rocks.

@NaClKnight "Kick rocks" never made sense to me. Go be bored, I guess?

@NaClKnight Hate is probably too strong a word, but I remember being very disappointed in Final Fantasy: Unlimited. I don't think I finished it, but considering its run was cut in half it wasn't finished to begin with.

@NaClKnight If you still need it for the web client, Settings -> Preferences -> Other, and then click English in the filter languages under "Public Timelines."

@NaClKnight Best to go to the source. The FTC has an explainer. There's one tricky bit in the PDF about franchises; if a wrestler were considered a franchisee they'd still be subject to non-compete clauses. I don't think that's how wrestling promotions are run, but IANAW.
