I've got a 2nd game of FF5 going using #FourJobFiesta rules, but the jobs were picked by the off-season page, so it's not official. I wanted to try out the Onion job set and I got one of the worst combinations: Thief/Monk/Bard/Dragoon. Geomancer instead of bard would be the other. I had to grind for Byblos and Soul Cannon took some resets. I just got through Archaeoaevis. But, even now bard's ability to cause stop is looking pretty nice.

Without it, you need higher level characters to do enough damage to finish those fights because of counter-attacks or attrition. Byblos is one of them, here's the entry for that boss on the new Four Job Fiesta wiki. As noted, Monk at least gets the command Focus (noted with an ! at the start), but it takes longer to execute than a normal attack.
