    @sun Crypto is a mixed bag for me. I got nothing against people who want to get into it that's their business I just hated that the miners absolutely fucked the GPU market during the Covid years but now that mining is kind of a thing in the past for crypto my contempt has kind of now moved on to the AI craze fucking up consumer pc parts in general.

    After you run TSForge to get ESU you can also validate if the licenses take by opening cmd.exe and using command

    slmgr /dli

    that will show you all the ESU client licenses as well as your OS license if it's active. If not it will only show the OS licensing

    From my understanding is ESU will provide 36 months of updates for Win 10 Pro but the TSForge puts a placeholder for years 4-6 which may allow you to use the security updates for Win 10 21H2 IoT LTSC ( Long Term Support Channel ) after ESU for Win 10 Pro ends on October 2028.

    Win 10 IoT LTSC will have guranteed support for security updates from Microsoft until 2032.

    They gave it for free to Europeans for one year because of EU regulations. Americans can either pay $30, spend 1000 bing rewards points for the license, or they can enroll their microsoft account and enable Onedrive.

    All those options are equally shit and microsoft can get fucked. If Europe got it for free they could give it to americans without acting like a bunch of datamining kikes. I pirate it out of principle and spite at this point.

    Yes 100% you can use a local account and TSForge will give you the licensing without needing a MS account. It abuses an activation loop hole from the Windows XP/Vista days for phone activation using OCID key forgery to activate the license without a server validation lookup.


    Just need to open powershell as admin and run command

    irm https://get.activated.win | iex

    from the command prompt menu that opens you press 3 for TSForge and 2 for Activate - ESU

    If you don't have win 10 pro you can change your windows version from the massgrave scripts prompts and do a HWID activation to perma activate the OS license.

    The only caveats with TSForge is it is not an HWID activation so if you reformat your PC you have to inject the TSForge licensing again for it to work.

    I just used mass grave scripts and did TSForge Win 10 ESU activation to get 3 years of extended support.

    If you save this to notepad and save as a .reg file and run it. It will create registry keys that will policy lock the machine to stay on version 22H2 ( Last version of Win 10 ) and Micrsoft will fuck off nagging you to upgrade to 11.

I think the biggest issue with 10 from the word go was how hard they were shilling Edge and at the time it had it's own unique framework that was godawful. Then someone at Microsoft had an epiphany and converted Edge over to Chromium with microsoft flavoring and it was actually a usable browser. That said I only use it to just do random bing searches for microosoft rewards points outside of that I don't use the browser at all.

    Honestly with me having a 3070ti right now that's the biggest hurdle holding me back from going to Arch/CachyOS right now. My desktop PC is running Win 10 Pro x64 ESU until my hardware is fully compatible with linux. I do have a ThinkPad T480 with Arch installed that's a solid machine. Graphics wise it's not the greatest Intel UHD620 but it's stable. Only thing my thinkpad gets touchy with is the fact I repalced the stock T480 trackpad with a glass trackpad from a Carbon X1E and the PS mouse drivers can randomly go nuts sometimes, and putting the machine to sleep by closing the lid can act buggy but if I put it to sleep through the KDE plasma super menu that mitigates that issue.
