    @sun Once upon a time I wanted one. I was a fan of the PowerPC Macs, though the G3 iBooks didn't interest me. I eventually got a POWER8 server, only for it to get the Suez treatment earlier this year.

    I'm not blind to what has happened. Maybe I'm not wording my questions correctly; it's less about the absolute state of gaming, it's more the trend of returning to notebooks, handheld cameras, dedicated devices instead of using a smartphone. There's one guy who gushes over the AYN Thor, others love the DS and PSP. It seems like an overcorrection to being anti-smartphone to me.

    @sun I'm partly aware of the uptick in interest over years, but I mean videos that portray it as a solution to social media and smartphone use. I've been looking at these over the last 2-3 days and I'm not finding an answer that makes sense.

    @SuperDicq Not just DAC, also implementation. USB dongle form factors struggle to push enough power, dissipate enough heat, or have enough shielding to isolate noise (like on phones), but that's not to say it's impossible.

    I would avoid all headphones with hardwired USB. My disdain for C-Media chipsets from past headsets hasn't waned.
