I need to hit the library.

I've been reading a bit about Kansas City while it was under the control of Big Jim Pendergast and later his little brother, Boss Tom Pendergast. Insightful, if you wonder what happens when politics, crime and violence mix. I don't know yet how this town managed to pull out of that morass. Today I was learning about two kidnappings of wealthy women.

It's a mean one, but I'm glad you got it!

The gulf is so warm, Helene picked up water until the last minute. Those predictions of 15-20 foot surge floods on the Florida coast were terrifying, but at NO TIME did it even occur to me this storm could go on to dump 3 feet of rain (!) in one go over states further north. It literally washed places clean off the map.

If you haven’t already, it’s time to add “death by flood” to your great big wheel of possibilities no matter where you live.

Two AT&T sales guys interrupted me in the card aisle of Target trying to get me to switch cell phone service.They enthusiastically pulled out a dry erase board & began writing down numbers totally disregarding my disgusted expression.

"Look, I'm not interested. I'm just here to pick out some sympathy cards. Someone in my family died."

They never even looked at what I was doing before they jumped in. Shit, I should have burst into tears. Does your sales script has an angle for that, assholes?

Aw, man. That made me tear up with joy.

A frustrating aspect of #ADHD:

1) Find a great article with terrific insight & tips, put it in a safe place and completely forget about it.

2) That is until you come upon it again and again say: "Oh, yeah! This is great! I really need to hang onto this. I'll just leave it here-- in this safe place."

Always: Out of sight, out of mind. 🙄
