@thomasfuchs @k Ah, IBM M-series keyboards. I worked for a small company whose founder's husband got a Deal in a stack of those in the 2000s. Man were they nice to type on. And you could end an argument very quickly by smacking someone with one!

@fesshole I failed at and hated some studies BECXAUSE I was forced to study them. I'm taking a run at Calculus in my mid-60's 'cause I missed out on it earlier.
School is often overrated.

@lowqualityfacts My wife and I started a company. I made 1,000 shares at $1,000 each, then sold them to her. She sold them back to me for $1,000.01 each.
We are looking for investors.

@thomasfuchs Sigh. The CD player still works ok fine, but cassette decks have rubber pulleys which contact the tape. Those degrade even as the tape degrades, so my cassette decks don't work any more.

@hellomiakoda @futurebird Since Zohran Mamdani was elected, New York schools have mandated the teaching of Arabic numbers.

@thomasfuchs When I started it IT, we used RL02 drives. They were the size of a washing machine, and if they got out of balance they could start to walk across the (raised) floor. Some people would take old disk packs apart and use the platters to make wall clocks.
They held an astonishing 10 MB of data.
