@rtanglao @bmann or just a tiny queue server. I wonder if I ask @simon what he uses for datasette queues if this ultra-light activitypub server will be built by the time I get back from making breakfast?

blaine (blaine@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Nov-2022 02:40:28 JST blaine @bmann @rtanglao technically, a little inbox server plus a static-site generator and a queue in a github action should be enough to make it all work. It’d be interesting to see what (if any) the obstacles are to that!

blaine (blaine@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 14-Nov-2022 02:40:18 JST blaine @rtanglao @bmann async delivery came late to twitter. There was one day that Ev said “err, it’s taking like 30 seconds to post a tweet”, because he had a couple thousand followers and updating the memcache timelines took a while.
We’re bringing sync back, y’all ?

blaine (blaine@mastodon.social)'s status on Sunday, 13-Nov-2022 08:28:51 JST blaine @evan the way I’ve always imagined this working on fedi is:
1. Circles are defined by account; don’t do lists, curating people is weird. Do an alt account, instead!
2. But some “circles” are defined collectively, and those are just like mailing lists; join an instance as a foreign account, subscribe to the local feed & post into that instance as your foreign identity.
I don’t think (2) exists today in Mastodonland, but we’re not far off? @darius?
