@PNS i think if one was raised in the US prior to 2010, coming of age, it is distinctly possible that the whole "melting pot" ideology looked good, seemed to work.

the problem is, those "refugees" and immigrants wanted to come to the US to become US citizens and integrate, even if the original generation never did, their children and grandchildren did.

@phnt i'm functionally stupid with gentoo even though i used it for twenty years. Does the virtual flags actually count? Or is this circular, where if you add the two it wants to sys-libs/zlib it'll throw an error that it should just have minizip?

basically i hate portage, but i make that everyone else's problem, since everyone else made systemd my problem.

@r000t @alex i've noticed some latency but i think it's because i am using flask. i should rejigger it in a real language instead of python.
I have tens of thousands of subtitle files that i put in sqlite3 and use FTS in/on. if there's a lot of results, it can seem like the page is hung for some seconds.

Probably python's fault.

I've used mongo, too, but not for this.
