Twice is odd. Sympathy for childhood you.
50 plus for Shingrix. I'm sorry I don't know what that's based on and whether it'll change - it seems younger people may be getting more vulnerable to shingles attacks following covid infections. It's the current minimum age guideline in this country, but we have to wait until 65 years old for a funded series. I paid to get it earlier.

Shingles vaccine is a good idea if you are in the right age cohort. It has a good chance of preventing quite unpleasant attacks and protecting us from lasting damage (and from dementia. How cool is that?). However shingles is not caused by the measles virus but the chicken pox one. It rears its ugly head from its hiding place in our nerves. It's a nasty trick that herpes viruses have.

I have seen a take that it can dull a medical practitioners diagnosing and analytical skills. Potential explanation is that the summarising for notes is part of those processes. Maybe by refusing I am helping keep my GPs skills fresh? The vet who used AI note taking didn't do a great job diagnosing my dog's woes, but was also working with THC handicap of not being able to access his regular notes and having to take the owner's word for things.

That’s what I thought. Right up until I walked in to our most recent appointment to find him barefaced and smiling. It was so unexpected that I didn’t walk straight back out -

It's also completely wild that a good* dentist would see patients unmasked and be flippant about COVID risks.*One who I found by accident, but immediately respected for the way he clearly kept up with the research practised evidence based dentistry. Discussed pros and cons of treatment options fully and honestly and a wizard at tricky extractions. Started teaching part time at the uni shortly after starting to practice. Humorously scathing about anti fluoride campaigners

My clinic rang the night before and asked me to reschedule my hygienist appointment later in the day so they didn't have to open so early, but accepted my refusal in good grace. Plucking up the courage to be more demanding before the checkup with the dentist who shocked me by taking less precautions than he did pre-covid last time I saw him. Hence my resolve to dentist shop. Shame yo lose the lovely hygienist though. -

If you cannot find a covid safe environment (I still haven't got round to dentist shopping) you may at least be able to find one who will schedule you as first patient of the day. Take good masks and ask the staff to wear them?
