ralen (ralen@social.linux.pizza)'s status on Wednesday, 29-May-2024 23:09:49 JST ralen we know about memory leaks and ways to deal with them:
c lays responsibility on programmers
javascript has garbage collector
rust's compiler cares about them
but what about storage leaks? package leaks? when i install a big program, fe blender, it needs a lot of dependencies. when i remove it, those dependencies remain (on arch at least)
#flatpak and #nixos deal with this issue by containers, not allowing leaks by their principle
but other pms relay this problem on user
