I'm confused what to do next.

I was a huge #Firefish fan.

I tolerated problems a long time. Broken timeline, search, failure to post, federate. Losing 8months of @ArtBear@firefish.social posts = not a confidence building experience.

I've tried archive request fortnightly for months. I always assumed a popular project like this would be fixed eventually.

I am disappointed, but not blaming anyone, it's just a big shame is all. It does make me wary about choosing another go at a #Forkey platform.

Good democracy is mildly unsatisfying. That is the point of it. It's the least shitty system we have.

Throwing mildly disappointing democracy away, for not being perfect, is insanity.

Having soaked up a load of subsidies, & sabotaged several non-hypothetical transport projects, Elmo #Musk's #HyperLoop shuts down, having achieved little, but wasted much.

I wonder how many bus or cycle route improvements could have been made instead with all that money.

Development has slowed down due to RL issue for dev team. This was not helped by a massive workload of database slowdowns etc on the dev run server which has been in poor shape for months, firefish.social Perhaps dev & larger server is too much workload.

Afaik, other #Firefish instances are working fine. There are some forks like #hajkey / #iceshrimp that seem more active with development currently. Things might change around with holiday period.

Decentralised also means, a decentralised & therefore non-uniform range of responses to things like #Threads.

It's adaptive, it's robust, it's empowering, it's a positive feature of the #Fedi . We can decide for ourselves in a range of ways, and not have some monolithic profit driven corporation style that decides 1 way only, for everyone.

I really think about #seafood and #fish when I see this, & how half the plastic in the #ocean is fishing tackle.

I think about how most of the farmable landmass in the entire world is used to raise #animalfeeds.

How nearly all of it, from rainforest to kelp forest, from fields to reefs could regenerate back to #carbonCapture #resilience #biodiversity if we ate traditional mostly plants. If animal products became again more special feast day events, a few times a year .

I want a 1time split of a .csv file in to 5 files. Simple tool or website nothing code based.

I want to upload the following.csv from my @artbear@firefish account.

But it won't allow me to upload a .csv following whose size, added to the current size of my current following, goes over the arbitrary following maximum.

I have seen mastodon accounts following over 7500 people, so is it a server setting?

Hi Ryan, thanks for the answer, I have seen accounts that follow 15k people though?

I like to follow a lot of research & academia accounts, many of which don't post very often, but are pretty interesting when you catch their "I've been working on X (for months) and I found Y" type posts etc.

merging a 3.5k following .csv with a 4.5k following .csv should be possible when it's nearly all the same people. But without finding a split .csv file tool it's not currently.
