   I want a 1time split of a .csv file in to 5 files. Simple tool or website nothing code based.

   I want to upload the following.csv from my @artbear@firefish account.

   But it won't allow me to upload a .csv following whose size, added to the current size of my current following, goes over the arbitrary following maximum.

   Hi, @wild1145 I asked about the limit a few months back, did you find out anything?

   I have seen mastodon accounts following over 7500 people, so is it a server setting?

     @ArtBear @wild1145 You are limited on the number of accounts you follow depending on your number of followers, this is a soam-fighting countermeasure.
     But if I understand your issue correctly, the real problem is that your CSV contains a lot of accounts you already follow, and the total followers after importing would be < 7500?
     This looks like a bug, can you open a Github issue here: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon ? If not, I will do it tomorrow.

     Hi Ryan, thanks for the answer, I have seen accounts that follow 15k people though?

     I like to follow a lot of research & academia accounts, many of which don't post very often, but are pretty interesting when you catch their "I've been working on X (for months) and I found Y" type posts etc.

     merging a 3.5k following .csv with a 4.5k following .csv should be possible when it's nearly all the same people. But without finding a split .csv file tool it's not currently.

     @ArtBear So I believe it's a limitation in Mastodon code and not something we control. @renchap might have a better idea than me but I'm 99% sure it's not anything I can change.

     yes my problem is 4790 followings.csv + 3267 follwing breaks a mastodon 7500 limit, despite being +3000 of the same people in actuality

     About github, I'm afraid to admit every time I've thought of opening a bug report I've opened github, seen the UI & thought... total overload, followed by
     "I don't code, I don't want to code, I'm glad I don't code"
     I don't want to learn what all this means, or how to do it correctly / not redundantly
     & in the right place
     & then left.
