One thing capitalism is effective at is hiding moral externalities.

Nobody wants to feel responsible for child labor at gunpoint, overworked migrant and third-world laborers in heinous safety conditions, or industrial-scale animal exploitation and carnage.

Yet all of it underpins vast swaths of the global economy.

Under capitalism, you do not have to know, and you do not have to care.
