Highly recommend seeing if your address is eligible for a last round of free COVID tests before the administration successfully kills the program and destroys all the tests. (They were going to do so last night but temporarily backed off due, apparently, to WaPo reporting.) https://covidtests.gov/
@chrisamaphone@samth@adrian@palvaro this slaps, I agree with Peter’s comment for what little it works, and also is there any evidence that panels have been restarted following the memo’s rescindance? Last I heard the NSF was directed to ignore the restraining order and stay shut down.
@xanovsky@chrisamaphone@samth@adrian@palvaro that definitely means to me that the shutdown is ongoing, and has no definitive end point given an undefined and unacceptable “comprehensive review of our projects, programs and activities to be compliant with the existing executive orders” apparently being conducted.
@GuillaumeRossolini@ineiti@molly0xfff oh, my apologies. Molly alluded to this: anywhere you're hosting from is almost certain to block outgoing emails, so you have to use a separate email delivery service like Mailgun. That's probably the vast majority of her expense.
Wow. Via @fossilesque, BU appears to be retaliating for grad student unionization by just stopping graduate admissions in the humanities, probably correctly guessing that the incoming NRLB and courts will won’t stop them. Curious if there will be a response from students and faculty.
@emilygorcenski was nodding along so far but this toot was unexpected - what are the best practices that are hurting us here? I’ve think I’ve been stumbling to a similar realization but haven’t yet had a broad enough perspective
@tchambers@quoll@carnage4life I guess I see how you read that thread and come to that conclusion. I read that thread and come to the opposite conclusion: embrace and extend is the oldest rug pull in the book
