    @HauntedOwlbear Sudden suspicion that the rash of out-of-genre cover songs a decade or so back (Turisas - Rasputin &c.) were in fact commissioned by someone wealthy enough to hire moderately famous metal bands on a whim.

    @HauntedOwlbear
    Your taste in music doesn't match mine exactly, but it's close enough that I'll take any recommendation of yours as something worth at least checking out. (Eventually, when I get around to it.) But this go in particular I have to say: every single one of these is - as I believe it is referred to in technical terms - a banger.

    Bad game idea: FPS FPS.

    You have to pull the trigger to get a new frame.

    @DamonWakes a camera or an extremely faulty torch that turns off immediately after turning on would be the way to go, I think. The tricky bit would be getting the gameplay to work and also not be really annoying and frustrating.

    @DamonWakes Camera flash usually takes a while to reload - could maybe do something with that. As well as using up batteries (or whatever).

    I could see this being a horror game with a strong "navigating in the dark" premise and the lurking threat of unseen dangers. Though how to have any chance of reacting between perceiving the dangers and being devoured by them is something of an issue.

    @HauntedOwlbear Sometimes I wonder if the idea here is that no one will go to the effort of trying these things out to verify whether they work. I am thinking of necropants in particular here.

      Nábrók
      Nábrók or nábuxur (calqued as necropants, literally "corpse britches") are a pair of pants made from the skin of a dead human, which are believed in Icelandic witchcraft to be capable of producing an endless supply of money. It is highly unlikely these pants ever existed outside of folklore. The Strandagaldur (The Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft) houses a reconstructed nábrok, on exhibit (shown right) . Folklore The folklore surrounding this these magic pair of pants, called by several appellations in Iceland, were described by Jón Árnason in his folklore collection, under section on "töfrabrögð" ('magic tricks'), and translated into English by Jacqueline Simpson under "Lappish Breeches". According to this superstition, anyone who desired never to run out of money would attempt to obtain a pair of ...

    Is there a better word than "addictive" for if you mean like in a popcorn sort of way rather than a cocaine sort of way?

    @HauntedOwlbear Straight-up can't think about this without immediately having my brain inundated with only story or at least concept albums, even though I usually listen to music album-wise.

    Queensryche* - Operation Mindcrime
    Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
    King Diamond - The Graveyard
    Savatage - Dead Winter Dead

    @HauntedOwlbear have you thought of putting down pee pads (as sold for puppies too young for housetraining)? I have no personal experience with them but imagine they'd help with hygiene and cleanup, and would not have immediately remembered that they're a thing that exists myself.

    @HauntedOwlbear Please give the sickly feral adult kitten my best wishes for her survival!

    Also, if she would find them comforting rather than threatening, some scritches behind the ear.
