@evan if it’s a guest account on a blog that hosts topics I don’t agree with or can’t relate to, then there’s no point in me partaking.
To me, it’s the same as me joining and participating in a discussion or writing a discussion topic on a bbs, forum board, discord/matrix/irc room, subreddit/lemmy thread.

I need y’all to follow @GAElectionUpdate which has been set up to follow the election process and data being generated from it.

Today we had 300,000 ballots cast; double the previous first day record. People definitely had their minds made up and decided “F it, I’m getting this out the way now.”

I had business to attend to today but I’m definitely doing the damn thing tomorrow.

As I’ve always said, there are enough granular blocking controls in individual ActivityPub and ATProto accounts to handle this.

My opinion: People have gotten used to walled gardens and have lost the concept of being in charge of their own internet experience.

Why not have :fediverse: have an unofficial Unicode character substitution or at least something else secondary to the actual one that’s easy to convey though?

There’s 🧵🦋✴️ for other spaces but AP/fedi has none unless you can do :fediverse: custom emoji which doesn’t show up elsewhere. I was actually using ✨ to represent the fedi but Google co-opted it for AI. So now ⁂ unless there’s a different symbol to represent it…
