Adrian (adrianfry@mastodon.scot)'s status on Sunday, 14-Jan-2024 17:40:31 JST Adrian The gist of this article about Kier #Starmer is that he believes that the most important thing is to have a #Labour government in power, even if it has to abandon #leftwing policy.
I live in #Scotland and hope that this beautiful country can eventually free itself from the shackles of the ever-increasingly #rightwing politics of Westminster.

Adrian (adrianfry@mastodon.scot)'s status on Saturday, 13-Jan-2024 03:40:02 JST Adrian @MadeyeTheCarnaptious @CloudyMrs @jbenjamint I too have this issue, where friends in England believe that Scotland has an utterly useless, corrupt government, and that the country's services are on the verge of collapse. The BBC, Grauniad, etc are incredibly biased.
Do you know of an online resource comparing Scotland with England that highlights the numerous successes and benefits of Scotland's policies and services?

Adrian (adrianfry@mastodon.scot)'s status on Monday, 11-Dec-2023 07:06:55 JST Adrian @CloudyMrs As a musician who often came home very late from work, I usually drew the short straw with parking. I sometimes had to park 'cheekily' but I'd move my car as soon as possible the next day.
Until the government offers a functioning public transport network 24/7 nationwide, a lot of people simply must have cars. Also, if they have EVs they'll probably need to be able to charge them at home.
Fines should not be a substitute for policy.

Adrian (adrianfry@mastodon.scot)'s status on Thursday, 02-Nov-2023 17:57:14 JST Adrian @aral What does 'distributed in Europe' mean? I have access to the whole world's servers and can download a browser from anywhere, especially as I use a VPN. Anyone with their eye on privacy would surely circumvent this nonsense, so it's pointless anyway?
