I wonder what they talk about.
They stood like this for quite a while. The cat had been stalking the cows until she was spotted. Two of them ran away, this one stayed to talk.

@Infoseepage it's never been open each time I've visited, but looks dry inside. Agree on it detracting from the experience...

Today's bike adventure. They grumble before we set off, and then the bike path magic happens...

Day 2, first stop: Sueno's (Sweyn Forkbeard's) Stone, for a bit of gruesome Pictish / Norse history. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sueno's_Stone)

@samuelpepys unless my maths is wrong (5s to a crown) this means the fairly recent Cromwell crowns were trading at 5 or 6 times face value. Anyone know why?

@StockbridgeArch guessing it's a tag for a cable installation, only based on S.T.C. LTD = Standard Telephones and Cables Limited

Couldn't resist a wee sprint up the hill to take a photo in this stormy light.

It was literally a sprint. Highland Council, in it's wisdom, puts a 45 minute limit on the charger in the car park. The red arrow points to the viewpoint way way up the hill on the ridge on the horizon. It's maybe 3/4 of a mile distance and 350m vertical, at a guess. **£1 per minute** fine if you overstay on the charger!

Took 48 minutes in total - met my person from Porlock (a very friendly Chinese holidaymaker) at the viewpoint, who asked for *lots* of photos taking. We had the thumbs up forward posture, to the side, v sign at the chest, jumping in the air, jumping in the air arm up, jumping in the air fist forward, star jump, etc and all in portrait and landscape, some repeated hat on, some hat off. Who was I to deny him though.

@selzero this is a traditional song in Scots Gaelic.
The song describes returning home to the braes of Loch Eil (the title).
You could interpret return, like other similar traditional songs, as meaning burial.
It was sung at a friend's funeral not so long ago by the daughter of the woman (a well known Scottish singer) singing here.

Easily the brightest and most widespread aurora I've seen from the west Highlands of Scotland.
Two of these photos are close to directly south facing.
