@mgorny @newo Learning how to get a computer to do exactly what I want it to do was much more straightforward when it was a Commodore 64 or Amiga.

As soon as I tried it on PC, the learning curve looked like a cliff. This was back in the Cyrix 133 days and it hasn't become any better.

I'm (making an effort to be) learning how to use neovim in order to learn React / Next.js and the layers of abstraction even at this level still run fairly deep.

It's becoming a little exhausting trying to keep up with what is and is not evil.

I mean... I use Windows and I buy Apple phones. In some people's eyes that's enough to write me off as an immoral spawn of Satan.

I was already trying to figure out #11ty to migrate away from WordPress.

Mainly because I'm cheap and managed WordPress hosting is costing me something like £72/year.

I’m wary of “the wisdom of the internet” for a few reasons. Also, practically every company is evil. I suspect a lot of people decrying Wordpress have eaten something made by Nestle in the past week.

@Gargron I have no choice but to use Chrome professionally, but I also find it strange that FF has such a low share.

Someone got in touch with me on Reddit and now I've sent them a (pretty lowball) proposal to fix consent management for their 3 websites.

Never freelanced before. Thought about it a lot.

Already broken the golden rule, because I haven't got a contract. I need to find a reliable template or even an actual legal pro who can help.
