My company is rolling out a new IT security policy, and I think it is shoddy to the point of maybe being unenforceable. There are three people who do IT work at my company, the CTO, HR and me, but I wasn't really consulted on this.

So now I'm once again deciding between pushing back and inevitably making people upset or just choosing not to fight this battle.

@Rasp I love the idea of a benevolent Sappho Fairy just flitting from place to place, finding all of the gay girls who aren't dating even though they should be and setting them straight (as in gay).

“You there, the two young ladies with the undercuts and the matching necklaces with each other's names on them, you've basically been dating for 8 mooooooonths,” the fairy calls as she is summoned to tell a lumberjack when the barista gives her a free muffin it's flirting.

@Rasp I wouldn’t say *no* to having access to that. And I can reciprocate with my own, though I don’t have a dedicated machine for my server.

@Rasp I loved it, if only because it gave me massive 13 Sentinels vibes, and actually creates a mostly cogent explanation of how an isekai could technically be possible. I think k it is super ambitious.

@Rasp I recently watched through the “I’m in Love With the Villainess” anime. Not as strong as the novels or manga but still rather fun and cute.

@Rasp I’ve lived in places like that. My understanding is that cinder blocks can cause a lot of throughput degradation.

@Rasp Were all the 5gHz devices barred from accessing the 2.4?If so then maybe it really was just a matter of adding more compute resources.

@Rasp The new AP you installed is 2.4gHz only?

@Rasp I could see a stronger/more robust 5gHz band cleaning up some 2.4 congestion.

@Rasp Me tooooooo. I will need to have some electrical work done at the new place at some point (installing a Level 2 electric car charger) so I'm going to consider wiring the place for ethernet at the same time.

@Rasp Do you have ethernet cabling in wall, or is this more of an aftermarket DIY kind of setup? I want to get my next house wired for ethernet if I can.
