Becky's PSA of the Day: If you are of age and haven't received your shingles vaccine, I invite you to seriously consider it. I got shingles in January 2023 and still have nerve pain. Because viruses are mean. 😡
YOU GUYS the scenic artist at my theater painted a little drain on the set floor, and it is the cutest thing that an audience may never notice. But we shall love it just the same.
(The play, "Clyde's" by Lynn Nottage, is set in a restaurant kitchen.)
Sure, just break into a theater, ransack the box office, and steal props for a show that's about to open. It's not like our entire industry is still trying to recover from the pandemic shutdown. 🫤
@joeo10 I lived in Budapest for about two years, after going there as a traveler and falling in love with the place. It's a beautiful and fascinating city, with a real mix of architecture, and Hungarian is so different that it's a wonderful adventure for anyone who likes language. Great pastries, too. 😊
I lived in Budapest a long time ago, and I was never by any means fluent, but there are still words that come out of my mouth in Hungarian even before English. "Istenem" for "My God," for one. And whenever I get something in my eye, I complain, "Mindig van valami a szememben." We may never know why. Languages are weird and wonderful things.
I love this exhibit of work by mixed-media and #collage artist Hilary Pfeifer at the airport in Oregon. The intricate symbols caught my eye immediately.
Grateful that we're all fine and have power. Not grateful for the massive Ponderosa pine that fell on my husband's empty car last night. Grateful that the car was empty.
Writer, actor, collage artist, ally, mama of small boys. I live in the beautiful #PNW and tell the stories of City Lights #Theater in San Jose, Calif. Best thing on my CV: singing with a country-western band in #Budapest.
